Playwrights
Linda Jane Butler is no stranger to the Sleepover. Since taking part in 2021, her caffeine-fuelled creation Grand Theft Post-Mortem has been reimagined for TV and has been gathering momentum in industry competitions & festivals ever since! (TRIFORCE/UKTV Writerslam – shortlist; Short Com TV Sitcom Writing Competition –longlist; S&Co International Festival – nominated for “Best Shorter Film, TV Pilot or Play Script”; Funny Women Comedy Writing Award – 2022 longlist). Most recently, her TV comedy – Debbie Nesbitt’s Not Dead Yet – made it to the Female Pilot Club – Longlist.
Amy French is fairly new to the playwriting scene, after graduating from Durham University she began a career in finance before deciding to focus on her true passion, writing for the stage and screen. Amy enjoys writing dark comedies, showing you an uncomfortably raw side of characters and including a good measure of flamboyant wit.
Emma Kelly explores dystopian and political themes in dark and humorous ways. She writes for stage and screen alongside directing and producing. Emma is passionate about making theatre in unusual spaces.
Directors
Haylin Cai is a theatre maker originally from China. She trained at London East 15 Acting School and frequently works in China and the UK. She is the artistic director of Out of the Blue Theatre Company. And she was the assistant director of The Ridiculous Darkness (Gate Theatre), and the writer/performer of her solo show, Elsewhere (Camden People’s Theatre), writer/director of Imaginarium (toured worldwide online). She treasures working with people from various backgrounds and strives to make art that resonates across cultures. She explores how art can open up the discussions and the space needed for the public to reflect and reimagine our way of life and our future.
Sarah Gain is thrilled to be back with Slackline after Directing ‘climate change’ dark comedy Skin in the Game at the New Wimbledon Studio. Other credits include Death and the Maiden for Baroque Theatre and Sing-A-Long with Frozen for Disney’s Summer Festival in Tel Aviv. So she’s nothing if not versatile!
Neta Gracewell is a director, performer, facilitator, and multidisciplinary artist. She is the Artistic Director of Junction Theatre & Performance celebrating Middle Eastern and Migrant narratives and talent. Neta directed Junction Theatre’s debut production, Borders, which saw a 5-star sold out run as part of VAULT Festival 2022 transfer season.
Kim Hausler is an American actor with a director’s brain, an on stage Slackline alum (Werewolf of Washington Heights), and producer behind the newly formed A Room with a Cue productions!
Jess Moore is an award-winning filmmaker, a director and a playwright. She is a @thisisonefifty artist and her directorial debut film, based on a play she wrote for Edinburgh Fringe, just had its UK premiere @camfilmfest. She wrote the feminist romcom @audibleuk series BOOK LOVERS. She’s currently developing new projects for screen and stage and is very excited to be directing theatre again.
Callie Nestleroth is an American theatre and opera director based in London, passionate about interdisciplinary work that considers the audience. Recent directing and assistant directing at Buxton International Festival, Royal Academy Opera and English Touring Opera. She is currently working on new productions with Oxfordshire Contemporary Opera and Opera’r Ddraig for 2023.
Actors
Noelle Adames is an American actress of Dominican heritage living in London. This summer she played Gertrude and The Nurse with @60HrShakespeare and just last month performed in the @latinxactorsus showcase at SOHO Theatre Upstairs. Scarlett Barrett is a British American Actress and voice over artist. Theatre includes: Kate Hardcastle, She Stoops to Conquer (Jonathan Miller); Rosalind, As You Like It (Cambridge Shakespeare Festival); Desdemona, Othello (White Bear Theatre); Santa Lucia, Simples of the Moon (Irish Repertory Company). In 2021 Scarlett was nominated for best actress in a short film at LA’s Golden Film Awards for her role in the romantic comedy Distracting Evelyn. Most recently Scarlett has returned from a year living in Athens where she studied modern Greek and trained with physical theatre company Duende.
Fiona Branson has appeared in ‘Silent Witness’ and ‘Eastenders’ for BBC TV, and been seen onstage at the Arcola Theatre, Watford Palace Theatre and Age Exchange, etc. She has worked as an actor/musician and director, and, as a singer-songwriter, has a micro-record label with her own award winning songs available on applemusic
Nesba Crenshaw is very pleased to be working on her third Slackline production, having appeared in the first Sleepover and The Werewolves of Washington Heights. Other theatre credits include shows with: The Old Vic, The Gielgud Theatre, Frinton Summer Theatre, Trafalgar Studios, The Atlantic Theater (off-Broadway); TV: The Crown, The Nevers; FILM: The Phantom Warrior, When the Screaming Starts; RADIO: Believe It, Dr Who: The Year of Martha Jones
Yulia Kovnat is a second-year student at Actors Door Studio. Previous performances include the role of Sophie in ‘How to Disappear Completely and Never be Found’ by Finn Kennedy, South London Theatre, 2019, and the role of Emma in a rehearsed reading of ‘The Blue Room’ by David Hare, Putney Arts Theatre, 2019.
Sarah Lidstone graduated from East 15 Acting School and is returning to Acting after a career break. Credits include; Annie, Table Manners and Amy, Charley’s Aunt (Sidmouth Summer Play festival). Scooner, On The Bench & Merry, Dances For Wolves (Southwark Playhouse) – which also received 5* reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe.Returning to Acting in 2020 (right in the middle of a pandemic!) Sarah gained recognition on twitter for her Shakespeare monologues and creating her own work; with #Toothpasteboobs having nearly 20,000 views. Other monologues include #CatsBum,#PenniesNotPenis & #SeagullFodder. Sarah also writes skits and scenes, including #TeaWithBeryl & #Toothpasteboob2 that are currently filming as part of building towards a TV pilot.
Emily Outred is a London-based actress currently filming wartime biopic A Shamrock At My Side. Plays Ang in tv comedy Hand to Mouth and is repped by Lyndsey Toon Artists. EMILY OUTRED (spotlight.com)
Molly Cass O’Donnell is a Rose Bruford Graduate (21) actor, writer and wannabe director. She recently worked with Justin Kerrigan on his short film ‘Reunited’. Her theatre company ‘Active Bitch Face Theatre’, co-founded by fellow Bruford graduate Susannah Cann, performed extracts from their show ‘Violent Circumstances’ at The Golden Goose Theatre and look forward to taking the show further in 2023!
Will Rogers is an actor from Nottingham. Credits include: I May Destroy You (BBC).Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho (Film4). The End of the F**king World (Clerkenwell Films), Crazy Face (Urban Myth Films) and Cucumber (Channel 4/Red Productions).
Oré Sanderson is a London based actor thst has been involved in various productions at The Space including the Alternative Showcase, 450 and other ScriptSpace projects.
Marcia Tucker trained and worked as an actor many years ago. Had a break and is back again for new adventures. She will be seen in the exciting new Amazon series Riches, which comes to our screens December 2nd.
Jenny Wills loves a bit of new writing and has performed new work at theatres including The Mercury Theatre, The Kings Head, Theatre 503 and The Old Red Lion. She has also performed more traditional theatre roles such as The Wicked Witch of the West, The Nurse in Romeo and Juliet and she looked fabulous as Queen Elizabeth I for a project with the Marlowe Theatre. She was delighted to be on Film4 recently in short film Diagnonsense.
